Jasper Johns’ approach to creativity, which involves taking something, doing something to it, and repeating the process until something emerges, has always resonated with me. It aligns with my own artistic approach, where I find joy in transforming chaotic beginnings into order, akin to assembling a complex puzzle. The tension of an unfolding mystery and the satisfaction of a finished creation are intrinsic to my artistic journey.
As a visual artist, my primary goal is to transport viewers into my imaginative realm and share my profound love for the natural world, while also addressing my concerns about its preservation. Through my work, I explore the intricate relationship between nature and the man-made world, highlighting how human activities impact the environment. My intention is to inspire viewers to observe their surroundings more closely, to seek beauty in unexpected places, and to develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
The creative process, for me, begins with a spark of inspiration, often ignited by my observations of the natural world. I immerse myself in the chaos of a blank canvas or a raw piece of clay, allowing the initial chaos to fuel my imagination. As I engage with the materials, I gradually bring order to the chaos, shaping and refining the emerging forms. Each mark, each stroke, and each gesture contributes to the unfolding narrative, until the final image or object emerges
Through my artwork, I strive to create a visual dialogue with viewers, inviting them to contemplate the beauty and fragility of the natural world, and to reflect on their own relationship with the environment. I hope to inspire viewers to become more mindful of their actions and to embrace a more sustainable and harmonious way of living.
